Ep 174: 3 things you need to feel successful as a business owner

In today’s episode, I share 3 things I believe you will need to have in order to feel successful with your business. So many new owners don’t feel like they are successful, and usually it’s because they are missing one of these.

So the first one I cover is making:

INCOME. Oh yes, you need to make money to actually be successful with this. It is not a hobby - it’s a business, and you must remember that. You will probably never feel truly successful if it’s not profitable.

The 2nd one is:

ENJOYMENT. Oh this too- you better actually enjoy making & offering what your products/services, or this is going to get old real fast. You won’t want to put in the extra hours & you won’t want to invest money in making it all even better. If you don’t actually enjoy this, you won’t feel successful.

And last but not least is:

IMPACT. If you feel like you are truly making a difference for people, you will feel SO fulfilled..and it will make your life more joyful. (sounds sappy but it’s true.) When you make a difference, you find meaning in this business, which is so crucial to feeling successful. If you don’t feel like you’re making a difference, you will stumble & ask yourself why the heck you are spending so much time on this business. But when you do actually make a difference, you feel like a MASSIVE SUCCESS.

 

I also share in the episode that if you actually enjoy it & are making an impact…you can fix the Income part. You can get more strategic. You can get smarter about what you are doing to grow it & reach more people. But without enjoying it & making a difference, you are going to have a hard time sustaining this for a long time.
